The exterior renovations of the Village Hall are complete. The hall now has a new roof, the walls have been reclad and new windows and doors installed. Internally, the electrics have been updated and a much more efficient heating system installed.
This has been achieved by a generous grant from Sita, a grant from Cherwell District Council (which we had to match pound for pound) and additional monies from Village Hall funds.
During 2010, funds raised from Village Hall events and kind donations has been used to gravel around the back and one side of the hall and make good fencing and retaining walls. The exterior of the windows and doors have been treated and the concrete path leading to the main doors relaid.
In 2012, the interior of the hall has been redecorated and the floor sanded and varnished. If you haven’t been in the hall for a while it now looks much smarter and welcoming.
Unfortunately, the Village Hall Committee were unsuccessful in obtaining a further Sita grant which means we will have to continue our fundraising to do any further improvements eg the toilets. There is also, of course, ongoing maintenance which requires attention each year.
Please do come along and support our various events that take place throughout the year whenever you can – monies raised will benefit our Village Hall and make sure it is a focus of the community for years to come.
